OVERVIEW- Jalpaiguri is a district with abundance of natural beauty mainly tea plantations and deep forests teeming with wild life is situated in the foothills of lower Himalayas in North Bengal boarding with Bangladesh, Bhutan and North Eastern States of India. The larger part of the Dooars valley comes under the Jalpaiguri district of the state. Innumerable rivers and their tributaries enhance the scenic beauty of the place. The undulating slopes covered with lush green teagardens and forests separated by meandering streams and small ethnic villages have brought Jalpaiguri in the most favoured tourist places in North Bengal.

BAGDOGRA- Bagdogra in West Bengal is small town heavenly view of the great eastern Himalayan range. It is well connected by air from with Delhi and Kolkata. It lays approximately 90 kms from Darjeeling town. Being a tea growing area it attracts tourists from all over world to have a spectacular array of tea. It also offers adventure sport such as fishing and angling and white water rafting in the rapids of the Teesta River.

JALPAIGURI- Jalpaiguri is situated in the foothills of the lower Himalayas in the northern part of West Bengal. The entire topography is crisscrossed with rivulets, rivers, dense forests, hills and tea garden. It is the largest district of North Bengal; Jalpaiguri is bounded by Bhutan in the North and Bangladesh in the South. The untouched beauty and widespread scenic landscapes make this place a most sought after destination for eco, wildlife and adventure tourism.

DAY 1: JALPAIGURI

Welcome at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or you can go for a leisure walk around River Karala.

RIVER KARALA- Popularly known as Thames of Jalpaiguri, the river bisects the city into two parts. To get panoramic view of the city takes on a boat ride along the River Karala up till its confluence with The Teesta River.

DAY 2: JALPAIGURI

After breakfast visit the beautiful city of Jalpaiguri

GORUMARA NATIONAL PARK- Located at the foothills of Himalayas in the Terai region, Gorumara National Park is known for its undisturbed beauty and landscape. Regularized as a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1949, Gorumara attracts tourists for nature walks, treks and wildlife gazing. A medium sized sanctuary, Gorumara was declared a national park in the year 1994.

BUXA NATIONAL PARK- Spread over acres of land in the Alipurduar division of West Bengal; Buxa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Jalpaiguri. A common favourite to regular tourists, adventure enthusiasts and eco travellers, Buxa also has a tiger reserve located inside the national park.

JALDAPARA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY- This is among the most famous wildlife sanctuary and is home to a wide variety of wildlife specifically the Great Indian One Horned Rhinos and other animals in general. This national park was established in 1941 to protect the Indian one-horned rhino which is in critically endangered list. This wildlife reserve is also a bird watcher's paradise and is one of the very few places in India where the Bengal Florican can be seen.

MENDABARI FORT- Located on the bank of river Baniya, Mendabari fort, also known as Nalraja garh is an ancient fort which dates back to the 5th century. The remains of the fort interest archaeology and history enthusiasts.

RAJBARI PALACE- This is an architectural marvel and boasts a palace gate which is a huge unenforced concrete structure. The entire structure consists of a palace building, two temples, portico and a garden adorned by a pond.

JOGOMAYA KALIBARI- On the temple street of Jalpaiguri stands tall the famous Jogomaya Kalibari - a famous temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. The temple is believed to be the abode of Maa Kali. The temple complex also houses a shrine of Baba Loknath.

RAJPUR TEA GARDEN- It is a beautiful tea estate of this region which is known for miles and miles of widespread tea plantation. Scores of tourists come here to see the rolling tea estates. The tea gardens are worth visiting which provides an opportunity to observe the way tea is manufactured from tea plucking to packaging.

MURTI RIVER- 9km away from the main township of Jalpaiguri, Murti river is near Murti. In the middle of thick forest, one can often spot wild animals like Elephants, Rhinos, Deer etcetera who come down to the river bank to satisfy their thirst.

SAROJENDRA DEB RAIKAT KALA KENDRA- This is an Art Gallery located opposite the Town Club Stadium showcases the art of the region. It has some of the beautiful collection of arts and artifacts which showcases the cultural aspect of this region.

Day free for leisure and later depart at airport/station to catch your flight/train towards onward destination.
