OVERVIEW- With various mythological tales and pious places, India is a home to various pilgrimage destinations, which includes Mata Vaishno Devi. Considered one of the holiest places on earth, Vaishno Devi in Jammu is set at a height of 5300 ft above sea level. People from all over visit the holy shrine to pay homage to Maa Vaishno. Later in the tour we move to Shiv Khori and then to the beautiful hill station, Patnitop. Also famed as the City of Temples, Jammu has been blessed with natural beauty in abundance. 

JAMMU- Also famed as the City of Temples, Jammu has been blessed with natural beauty in abundance. Placed at the base of the mighty Himalayan Mountains, the city was founded by Raja Jamboolochan way back in the 14th century.  As per archaeological indication, Jammu was the part of the Harappa civilization.

KATRA- The shrine of Vaishno Devi, one of the most important places of worship in India calls the little town of Katra its home. Located in the Uddhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, Katra is mostly visited by devotees of Lord Shiva. The pilgrimage route is only complete when Shiv Khori, 1.6 km away from Vaishno Devi is also visited. Katra has a large collection of water bodies which can be easily accessed.

MATA VAISHNO DEVI SHRINE- It is one of the oldest and popular shrines of India, located at a height of 5300 feet on the holy Trikuta Hills of the Shivalik Hill Range. The Holy cave is 13 Kms from the Base Camp Katra. The Town Katra is 50 Kms away from Jammu. 

SHIV KHORI- Shivkhori, a divine shrine of an avatar of Lord Shiva, is located in the lap of nature in the form of a cave on a hillock in Udhampur district in India's own Heaven on Earth, Jammu and Kashmir. The 4-foot lingam was formed naturally in a cave. This self-manifested lingam of Lord Shiva is also known as Swayambhu and is of great importance in Hindu religion. 

PATNITOP- Patnitop is a small hill station surrounded by Shiwalik belt of Himalayas. With endless meadows and panoramic views of the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas, Patnitop is a perfect place to experience nature at its picturesque best and widest. There are three gushing ice cold freshwater springs in the area, which are said to have medicinal properties.

DAY 1: JAMMU- Arrival at Jammu Airport/Station. Transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, visit

SIGHT SEEING JAMMU
BAHU FORT- Bahu Fort stands tall and sturdy on the left bank of the Tawi River. Raja Bahucholan constructed this magnificent fort over 3000 years ago, making it one of the oldest monuments in the city. 

MUBARAK MANDI PALACE- The architecture of the palace is an elaborate blend of Rajasthani, Mughal and European influences.

RAGHUNATH TEMPLE- Situated in the heart of the city and surrounded by a group of other temples, this temple, dedicated to Lord Rama is outstanding and unique in Northern India. 

Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 2: JAMMU = KATRA - VAISHNO DEVI- After breakfast drive to Katra. Transfer to hotel. After relaxing some hours, start your trek towards the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. The Yatra begins at Katra from where you can go bare foot, horses or palki for the Darshan.

Overnight at hotel.

DAY 3: VAISHNO DEVI SHRINE - KATRA- Today continue with a 16 km journey that covers Banganga, the Adhkawari cave, Sanji Chhat, Bhawan, the shrine and the Bhairon temple. 

MATA VAISHNO DEVI- The Goddess Mata Vaishno Devi's abode is in 100 feet long cave with a narrow opening. The holy cold and crystal clear water washes the lotus feet of the Mata's "Pindian". There are three natural ‘Pindies’ representing Maha Saraswati, Maha Lakshmi, Maha Kali, which represent creative, preservative, and destructive aspects of the Super Power. It is an ancient shrine whose reference is found in the Vedas and ancient scriptures.

After the divine blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi return back to Katra. Take rest at the hotel.

DAY 4: KATRA - SHIV KHORI - KATRA- After breakfast go to excursion to Shiv Khori

SHIV KHORI- Shivkhori, a divine shrine of an avatar of Lord Shiva, is located in the lap of nature in the form of a cave on a hillock in Udhampur district in India's own Heaven on Earth, Jammu and Kashmir. The 4-foot lingam was formed naturally in a cave. This self-manifested lingam of Lord Shiva is also known as Swayambhu and is of great importance in Hindu religion. According to some, the cave is dedicated to one of the forms of Lord Shiva, which is believed to be unborn and invisible. As one explores the cave, they experience the divine aura of this form of Lord Shiva. Shivkhori is an enchanting destination famous for its religious belief. The route inside the cave is challenging.

In the evening drive back to Katra.

DAY 5: KATRA - PATNITOP- After breakfast drive to Patnitop. Transfer to hotel. Later visit the beautiful hill station- Patnitop.

SIGHT SEEING PATNITOP
NATHATOP- One reaches Nathatop after a short trek from Patnitop. The hill station is covered with snow during winters thereby enhancing its beauty two times. One can happily go skiing in these mountains. Nathatop has become very famous for its paragliding.

KUD PARK- Located in Kud, this park is famous for its beautiful flowers. Also Kud, one can get their hands on some 'Patisa', a sweet that Patnitop is known for.

NAAG TEMPLE- The pride of Patnitop is its 600-year-old Naag (cobra) temple. Though small in size, it reflects the faith and reverence shared by millions of Indians all over. Predominantly made of wood, this temple has weathered several centuries although it is not a conventional solid temple construction. 

SUDH MAHADEV TEMPLE- Built almost 80 years ago, this temple was built on the spot where a Shiva devotee was accidentally killed by his trishul, while he was trying to protect his consort, Parvati.

In the evening nature trails can lead to pockets where time stands still and calm prevails. Encounter breathtaking landscapes and indulge in scenic purity on nature walks through the landscapes, hills and valleys here.

DAY 6: PATNITOP - JAMMU- Drive back to Jammu. Later day free for shopping. 

SHOPPING- Hari Market, Poshish, Raghunath Bazaar, Jain Bazaar, Boota Ram market are some most commonly visited shopping centers in Jammu.  Jammu is known for its dry fruits and chocolate barfis.

Later in the evening, catch your flight/train towards onward destination.
