OVERVIEW- Hospet or Hosapete is a city in the Bellary District in central Karnataka, India. It is located on the Tungabhadra River, 12 km from Hampi. Hampi is a World Heritage site containing the ruins of the medieval city Vijayanagara, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Hospet was built in 1520 AD by Krishna Deva Raya, one of the rulers of Vijayanagara. He built the city to honour the memory of his mother Nagalambika. Hospet is a well-known tourist destination, mainly due to the proximity of Hampi. In addition, the city has a well-developed market area. Hospet is also notable for its iron ore mining and steel plants.

HOSPET- Hospet, the famous historical spot is highly popular being one half of the fabulous twin city of Hampi-Hospet. Hampi is known as World Heritage Site with historical ruins from Vijaynagar empire, some of which can be spotted in Hospet. It is that one city which is sure to entice the likes of historians and history lovers.

DAY 1: BENGALURU - HOSPET

Today morning drive to Hassan en route visiting Chitradurga.

CHITRADURGA- The hill and fort town of Chitradurga is often referred to as Kallina Kote or the Place of Stones. The bold rocky hills and picturesque valleys with huge towering boulders offer nature at its best at Chitradurga. The Palegars, Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan built the famous fort of Chitradurga. The fort lies enclosed in series of seven walls and is known for its military architecture.

Later, continue your drive Hospet. Straight transfer to hotel, and evening free for leisure.

DAY 2: HOSPET

After breakfast visit Hospet City viewing 

HAMPI - Hampi is a world Heritage Site and the erstwhile capital of the Hindu kingdom of Vijayanagar. This ruined town is guarded by rivers and granite ridges. The travelers from Europe who visited the place at the height of Vijayanagar Empire wrote that the city was as large and as beautiful as Rome.

VITTALA TEMPLE- Situated northeast of Hampi, VIjay Vittala Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. With the most extravagant architecture and exceptional craftsmanship, the temple is the main attraction of Hampi. The sprawling campus of the temple resembles a town featuring many halls, gateway towers, pillared pavilions and compound wall.

VIRUPAKSHA TEMPLE- One of the World Heritage Center declared by UNESCO. The temple contains carving dated back to 8th and 9th century. The temple is supposed to be built in the 7th Century and had many enhancements during the rule of the Chalukyas and Hoysala period.

KINGS BALANCE- A balance used in the ancient times, to weight the King against the wealth, metals, and food. The five-meter-long tall balance contains three loops on the top and the carvings of the Kings, which is the major attraction.

QUEENS BATH- This 15-metre square bath is enclosed with gallery, verandas and overhanging Rajasthani balconies. The minor waterfall inside the bath was once poured with cool, perfumed water that flowed out through an underground drain. 

HARIHARA- It is located on the banks of the Tunga bhadra River. It is one of the holy towns where thousands of devotees come. Temples are very famous and devoted to Lord Vishnu.

LOTUS MAHAL- The Lotus Mahal is an exquisite pavilion located in the walled area of zenana near Hazara Ram Temple. The pavilion derives its name from the lotus bud that is carved on its dome and vaulted ceiling. A fine blend of Indo-Islamic architecture.

DAY 3: HOSPET - BENGALURU

Day free for leisure and later, drive back to Bengaluru to catch your flights/train towards onward destination.
