Lies on the base of the Sahayadri Mountains with 38 peak points, Matheran is a perfect destination from the pandemonium of city life. It is one of the unpolluted hill stations near Mumbai as vehicles are banned from entering here. In addition of these The Toy Train in Matheran is another major attraction of this hill station.

PUNE- Pune is an important town of Maharashtra and is also known as Oxford of the East due to the presence of a large number of prestigious education institutes. Its ancient forts, caves, temples and bewitching natural beauty are some of the irresistible temptations for the travelers. The second largest city of Maharashtra, Pune, is the place which was home to the Maratha leader, Shivaji for a long time. This calm city was also resided by the self-proclaimed guru, Bhagwan Rajneesh, also known as Osho.

MATHERAN- Matheran is a serene hill station located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, at a height of 2516 feet above sea level. With its breathtaking and panoramic beauty, the hill station is a must visit for natural observers and lovers as its main attraction lies in its overall beauty and its unruffled hilly areas.

DAY 1: MUMBAI/PUNE - MATHERAN 

Drive towards the beautiful hill station- Matheran. Transfer to hotel. In the evening spend some time at lake.

CHARLOTTE LAKE- Also named as Sharlott Lake, Charlotte Lake is a calm and picturesque spot in Matheran. Further, it is the main source of drinking water in the Matheran region. There is an ancient temple called Pisarnath Temple which is located at the right of the lake and two beautiful picnic spots-Louisa Point and Echo Point- are located at the left of the lake.

DAY 2: MATHERAN

After breakfast, explore the beauty of this place.

PRABAL FORT- Located atop of Prabhal Hills in the western part of Matheran; Prabal Fort has an important place in Indian history. The fort was captured by Shivaji Raje Bhosale from Mughals. It is said that the fort possessed price worthy treasures at the time of capture.

SHIVAJI'S LADDER- As the name suggests, Shivaji's Ladder is a series of steps which connects one tree hill point to Matheran Valley. The route is encompassed by lush green forests and balmy winds. The great Maratha Emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji used this way for his pleasure trips and hunting spree in the valley.

ONE TREE HILL POINT- A picturesque hill station with a Jambhul tree perched at the crest, One Tree Hill Point is a walk through the road known as Shivaji's Ladder, while descending from the hill to the plain. It is a good trail for trekkers.

RAMBAGH POINT- It is one of the amazing picnic spots that offer splendor views of the pavement hilly ranges and surrounding areas. The place is perfect to see the beautiful sunset in the evening.

HART POINT- Located at the north western edge of Matheran hill station, Hart Point offer stunning views of the greenish quite villages and the low lying lush plains. Surrounded by dense green woods, it offers a calm, cool and pure destination for meditation and relaxation.

VANTAGE POINTS- Matheran's hills offer some of the most stunning views of the landscape. The Panorama Point is located 6 kms from the market and is believed to be the longest point in Matheran and is a popular spot for picnics. It is from here that the mountain ranges of Khandala Bhimashankar are visible. The Heart Point offers a view of Mumbai at night. The Echo Point derives its name from the acoustic echo it provides. Louisa Point is another popular point in Matheran with its beautiful waterfalls. Monkey Point owes its name to the profusion of monkeys that are constantly up to their antics. Sunset Point offers views of Prabalgad, one of the forts of Chattrapati Shivaji's Fort.

DAY 3: MATHERAN - MUMBAI/PUNE

Day free for leisure and later, drive back to Mumbai/Pune to catch your flights/train towards onward destination.
