OVERVIEW- Diu is a beautiful blend of sea, sand and sun, It is a God's gift to those in quest of a blessed land where the weary weight of this unintelligible world can, for a while, be lightened and the waking soul can hear the music of the nature. This tiny island of breeze, beauty and serenity situated off the southern tip of the Saurashtra (Kathiawad) peninsula of Gujarat, lapped by the Arabian Sea, is a picture of calmness with superb beaches and a fascinating history.

AHMEDABAD- It is the largest city in Gujarat, associated with the great thinker and freedom fighter, Mahatma Gandhi. It is an exclusive blend of Hindu and Islamic styles of architecture. The city's prosperous and eventful past and present is embodied in its rich kaleidoscope of history, art and culture, rich architecture and imposing monuments. The city is a famous business hub and is well known for chemical and textile industries.

RAJKOT- Once the capital of the princely state of Saurashtra, Rajkot is now an important industrial city of the West Indian state of Gujarat. It is also popular as the place where Mahatma Gandhi had spent the initial years of his life and gained early education from a school. Home to some striking gardens, ashrams, lakes and temples, Rajkot is also quite popular for its handicraft items, jewelry market and special tie and dye or Bandhani, a beautiful cloth material. 

JAMNAGAR- It is called as the Jewel of Kathiawad. It was a princely state of considerable importance and is rich in relics from the time of the Jadeja Rajput kings locally known as the Jam Sahibs. Adjacent to the Kutch region in northwestern Gujarat, Jamnagar is a very calm and quiet destination with temples, palaces, forest, Bird and Marine Sanctuaries. 

DIU- Diu is a tiny island in the Arabian Sea, about 11 kms long and 3 kms wide, separated from the coast by a narrow channel running through the swamp and two tiny mainland enclaves. The islands main industries are fishing, tourism, booze and salt. This beautiful island has excellent golden beaches, whitewashed churches, bazaar, colorful Lisboa streets, gorgeous climate, huge Portuguese fort, lush seafood and Gujarati weekenders who flock for the cheap booze and sunshine.

DAY 1: AHMEDABAD/RAJKOT/JAMNAGAR - DIU

Today drive to the small island of Diu. Transfer to hotel. Evening free for leisure around the beach.

DAY 2: DIU

After breakfast, visit this beautiful island

DIU FORT- The Fort of Diu is a colossal structure that occupies a prominent place on the tourist's list. It was constructed between 1535 and 1541 AD after a defence alliance, concluded by the Bahadurshah, Sultan of Gujarat, and the Portuguese when Humayun, the Mughal Emperor undertook war to annex this territory. The lighthouse is Diu's highest point, with a beam whose radius reaches 32 km. The fort is a striking structure on the coast of the Diu island and a jetty constructed on the northwestern side is still being used. 

NAGOA BEACH- The most beautiful and famous beach of Diu is Nagoa Beach. Famous for its pristine beauty and swaying palm trees, it is an ideal and most recommended place for tourists all over the world. The place is well connected with the resorts, hence it makes it easy for the travellers to relax and explore its beauty at the same time. The beach is located in the Nagoa hamlet of Bucharwada village and serves an attraction for its Hoka trees which produces a unique kind of fruit.

GHOGHLA BEACH- One of the most attractive places in Diu is the Ghoghla beach. Located in the north of Diu town with not many people, it catches the attention of the tourists who prefer to stay aloof and not with the crowd. With standard restaurants around the place along with water sports, this beach stands complete.

CHAKRATIRTH BEACH- The beach enjoys a central location and lies adjacent to the town. Chakratirth Beach in Diu is a favorite beach getaway for both the domestic and the international tourist. The beach provides the opportunity to break away from the shackles of monotony and soak of up the fun. Diu's Chakratirth Beach is made more picturesque by its surrounding landscape predominated by the hills.

Day free for leisure and later, drive back to Ahmedabad/Rajkot/Jamnagar to catch your flights/train towards onward destination.
