OVERVIEW- Located in the southwestern part of the Maharashtra state, Ratnagiri is a small beautiful port city, lying on the coast of the Arabian Sea. The calm atmosphere and pleasant climate of Ratnagiri every year attract an amazing number of tourists from Mumbai as well as Pune during the weekends. This place is also known for owning a connection with the great Hindu epic Mahabharata. It is believed that after their exile of 12 years, the Pandava Brothers had spent some time here. The undulating terrain of Ratnagiri with its sun kissed sandy beaches and lush hills is surely the perfect place to have a memorable vacation along with the loved ones.

MUMBAI- Mumbai is the capital city of Maharashtra and is the financial powerhouse of the country. Also well known commercial capital of India, fast paced cosmopolitan city. This historic city, extends along the sea, has grand buildings and is the center of India's Hindi film industry. PUNE- Pune is an important town of Maharashtra and is also known as Oxford of the East due to the presence of a large number of prestigious education institutes. Its ancient forts, caves, temples and bewitching natural beauty are some of the irresistible temptations for the travelers. The second largest city of Maharashtra, Pune, is the place which was home to the Maratha leader, Shivaji for a long time. This calm city was also resided by the self-proclaimed guru, Bhagwan Rajneesh, also known as Osho.

RATNAGIRI- Ratnagiri is among the popular tourist destination in Maharashtra holding some of the stunning beaches, historical monuments and temples. It is located in the south-western region of Maharashtra state, Ratnagiri is a small yet stunning port city on the coast of the Arabian Sea.

DAY 1: MUMBAI/PUNE - RATNAGIRI

Drive to Ratnagiri. Transfer to hotel. After lunch visit

JAIGAD FORT- Placed on the tip of a peninsula in Ratnagiri district, Jaigad fort is a popular sea fort. Since it is situated on a cliff, it offers great views of the bay nearby. This bay is formed when the River Shastri enters into the Arabian Sea. There is a jetty port and a lighthouse close to the fort.

RATNADURG FORT- Bounded by the Arabian Sea on the three sides, the magnificent Ratnadurga Fort has a shape of a horseshoe, with walls 1300 m in length and 1000 m in width. Originally erected by a ruler of the Maratha empire, this fort was under the rule of a Muslim ruler for a good number of years. Spread in 120 acres of land, this fort offers nice sunset views.

DAY 2: RATNAGIRI BEACH TOUR

After breakfast, visit some beautiful beaches of Ratnagiri

BEACH TOUR RATNAGIRI
GANAPATIPULE BEACH- The beach is clean and stunning beach with fine silvery white sand. Because of stretch of rocks, swimming here is not safe. There is a lagoon as well. If you love adventure, you can partake in kayaking here. The end of the beach has a small cliff from where you can enjoy a nice view of the surrounding area with cashew and mango tree standing in a line.

MANDAVI BEACH- The most crowded beach of Ratnagiri, Mandavi beach is slowly becoming extremely popular amidst the tourists. An enchanting beach, it has been blessed with an extended line of sea that continues up till Rajiwanda Fort. Mandavi beach has black sand. 

PANDRE SAMUDRA BEACH- Also famed as White Sea, the beach is a long and clean stretch of sand that is located quite close to the Ratnagiri town. The silvery sand of this beach is a crowd puller and family vacationers. Enjoy the amazing sunset view and a leisure walk. Partake in swimming here in the sea waters. Enjoy the serenity spread all around.

SWAYAMBHU GANPATI TEMPLE- The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is believed this white sand temple is not man-made and has originated on its own. The Sanctum Sanctorum of the temple also houses another Lord Ganesha idol in copper where he is shown riding a lion.

DAY 3: RATNAGIRI - MUMBAI/PUNE

Day free for leisure and later, drive back to Mumbai/Pune to catch your flights/train towards onward destination.
