OVERVIEW- Yercaud is a hill station situated on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats in the northern part of Indian state of Tamil Nadu and experiences very pleasant climate. Yercaud hill area is called the Shevaroy Hills. Yercaud is famous for oranges and coffee plantations The main crop grown in Yercaud is coffee, but fruits like guava and jackfruit and spices like black pepper, cardamom are also grown as plantation crops. The wildlife in Yercaud comprises of bison, deer, foxes, mongooses, squirrels, snakes and birds like kites, swallows, bulbuls and sparrows. The greatest attraction in Yercaud is the big natural lake or the Emerald Lake.

COIMBATORE- Situated on Nilgiri's foothills, Coimbatore is one of the fastest growing cities of India. It is a significant hub for the textile, education, commercial and IT sectors. Nestled in the state of Tamil Nadu, the city is located on the banks of the Noyyal River and surrounded by the Western Ghats, Coimbatore has beautiful landscapes, waterfalls, wildlife and numerous lakes making it a tourists paradise. 

BENGALURU- Bengaluru, the Garden City of India is also the capital of Karnataka. The city ranks as one of the fastest growing cities in Asia. Its pleasant climate, friendly people and its highly educated population have made this Silicon Valley of India. Almost all computer related multinationals are setting up their Indian head office at Bengaluru. This garden city of India has many gardens and boulevards. There are number of places of tourist interest in and around Bengaluru.

YERCAUD- Nestled in the Eastern Ghats, Yercaud is a hill station called poor man's Ooty with abundant forests, vast coffee plantations and some unique species of flora and fauna resulting in gorgeous views. Yercaud is also known as the 'Land of 7 Forests', situated at an altitude of 1515 meters above sea level. Fields of coffee, citrus fruits, jackfruit, and banana and pear trees are all constituents of the forests in and around Yercaud. Therefore, trekking through all this is a wonderful experience.

DAY 1: COIMBATORE/BENGALURU - YERCAUD

Today drive to the beautiful hill station Yercaud. Transfer to hotel. Enjoy the remaining day at leisure.

DAY 2: YERCAUD

After breakfast at hotel, visit the beautiful hill station of Yercaud.

EMERALD LAKE- The most alluring aspect of Yercaud is its big yet natural lake very popularly known as the Emerald Lake. Surrounded by some wonderful cloud-peaked hills and a well persevered garden on its banks, this lake is a feast for the eyes.

SHEVAROY TEMPLE- Perched atop of the Shevaroy Hills, The Shevaroy Temple is dedicated to Lord Shevaroy. The temple features a slim and dark cave which is dense and features the idols of Lord Shevaroyan and Goddess Kaveri. The annual festival of Lord Shevaroyan is celebrated in May every year and is visited by native tribal in hundreds.

BOTANCIAL GARDEN- Located 2 kilometer away from the Emerald Lake, The National Orchidarium, also known as Botanical Garden, features a large variety of orchids including 30 orchid species which are exclusively found here. This garden is quite famous for Kurinji flowers, which blossoms in plenty. The specialty of this flower is that it will bloom only once in twelve years.

KILLIYUR FALLS- Located 3 kilometers away from the Yercaud Lake, Killiyur Falls is a waterfall situated in the Shevaroyan hill range in the Eastern Ghats of Tamil Nadu. The excess water of the Yercaud Lake descends from a height of 300 feet into the Kiliyur Valley.

PAGODA POINT- Located on the eastern part of Yercaud Hills, Pagoda Hills has four piles of stones which have been arranged to form a pyramid shape. It is said to have been built by the local tribes and now home to a large temple. One can enjoy a panoramic view of the Salem town and a little village called Kakambadi from this hill.

LADY'S SEAT- It is a giant rock on the South West of Shevaroy Hills that overlooks the Ghat road and Salem town. There is a popular story among the natives which says that a white English lady of earlier days used to spend her evenings enjoying the panoramic view from this rock. There is a viewing tower featuring a powerful telescope to see breathtaking views.

DAY 3: YERCAUD - COIMBATORE/BENGALURU

Day free for leisure and later, drive back to Coimbatore/Bengaluru to catch your flights/train towards onward destination.
